GIS Coordinator

The City of Montrose seeks a motivated and friendly individual to join our Information Services Team! This position collaborates with the Information Services Director and the GIS Analyst to design, install and coordinate the City Geographical Information Systems (GIS) and Global Positioning Systems (GPS).

The Wage: The wage for this full-time position is $64,047.20 / annually.

Essential Functions:

Manage and coordinate the City’s GIS and GPS systems and projects in such a way as to assure efficient operations and availability to users.
Coordinate technical and administrative GIS activities with other City departments, and state and county agencies to gather data and present information in usable formats.
Write or provide the necessary information to write operating instructions for the GIS/GPS systems and equipment.
Serve as technical specialist, staff advisor and consultant for varying types of GIS projects, equipment, or program functions.

Job Requirements and Qualifications:

Current Colorado driver’s license with acceptable record.
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Geography, or related field from an accredited college.
Two years experience with the Esri suite of products and a working knowledge of Autodesk products.
Four years of GIS experience and GIS Professional certification preferred.
Sedentary physical work requiring ability to lift a maximum of 25 pounds.
