Working with SQL Spatial and QGIS

This workshop will work with the basics of SQL and SQL spatial functions in a PostgreSQL/PostGIS database using Datagrip as the UI, then visualizing and styling the results in QGIS. Topics and workflows include counts, grouping, and filter operations, basic geometry operations and coordinate system transformations, exporting results to a spreadsheet, calculating area, spatial intersects, point-in-polygon, buffer and distance calculations, geometry transformations with lines and centroids, creating tables and data management, accessing and styling PostGIS layers in QGIS, and creating static map images.
