Nick Viau is a GIS specialist and instructor with 8 years of experience applying geospatial technologies to solve problems in the natural resource management field. He holds a B.S. in Geosciences and GIS from Colorado State University (2012). He has worked on or closely with a number of respected GIS teams including: National Park Service Natural Resource Stewardship & Science GIS team, Ft. Collins, CO (2010-2012), the Trust for Public Land national GIS team (2014 – present), USFS Southwestern regional GIS team (2014 – present) and USFS Rocky Mountain regional GIS team (2015 – present). He currently works for Allpoints GIS as a GIS specialist and instructor. Nick has been involved with GIS Colorado for more than 5 years. He is currently serving as an interim board member for GIS Colorado and would love to continue his work to serve the organization. He hopes to help GIS Colorado expand its networking and training offerings. Nick is 28 years old, a lifelong Colorodan, and lives with his wife in beautiful Dillon, CO. He enjoys hiking, skiing, biking, camping, rock climbing, live music and all things that happen outside.
