I would like to nominate myself, Darcee Killpack, for the GIS Colorado Board of Directors. I have been on the GIS Colorado Board for the past 6 years. I have been proud to work with our great community on training, conferences, and our quarterly meetings. Since 2012, I served as the GIS Colorado representative to the GIS in the Rockies Board of Directors. I worked with the Board and Planning Committee members to grow and expand the GIS in the Rockies conference. In 2014, I was proud to serve as the Conference Chair of GeCo in the Rockies hosted in Grand Junction. GIS Colorado was a sponsoring organization to the conference. I have decided to vacate my position on the GIS in the Rockies board this year hoping to dedicate more time to GIS Colorado if I am re-elected to the Board. I feel there is still more I can contribute to our community. I want to continue grow our training opportunities in the state, complete our Strategic Plan providing the vision and direction of the organization for the next 5 years, and continue to arrange our quarterly meetings providing local presentations and community networking opportunities around the state. If elected, I am dedicated to working with the GIS community more to evolve and grow GIS Colorado to meet the changing needs. As for my professional background, I have over 18 years of experience in the GIS profession. I currently work as the Deputy Director of the USGS National Geospatial Technical Operations Center supporting the production and delivery of The National Map, US Topo, 3D Elevation Program, and the National Hydrography Dataset. I previously worked for the National Park Service as the GIS Coordinator for the Intermountain Region providing direct GIS support to over 90 park units in 8 states. I also worked for SWCA, Inc. as the GIS Director supporting the integration of GIS into environmental management, assessments, and analysis.
